December Christmas Prayer

December is often the loudest month of the year—and yet it holds the quietest miracle.

Between the lists, the plans, and the constant movement, it’s easy to reach the end of December having celebrated Christmas without ever slowing down to sit with the wonder of Advent. This month is meant to lead us back to awe—to the promise made, the Savior sent, and the God who came near.

Did you know that Scriptural Grace has been leading people in prayer throughout each month of the year, with Scripture prayer points and teaching on how to pray using the A.C.T.S. method of prayer? You can read all about it HERE, and start with us in January 2026!

The December prayer journal was written to help you pray through the Advent season and to prepare your heart and that of your family and friends to celebrate Jesus.

Throughout the month, we’ve been praying through Scripture using the A.C.T.S. prayer model—beginning with adoration, confession, and thanksgiving before bringing our requests to God. These prayers are designed to gently position your heart before Him, grounding your prayers not in hurry or habit, but in truth.

Before moving into supplication—before asking, seeking, or interceding—I want to invite you to pause and pray through the Scripture prayer below. It’s the heart of this December guide. Rooted in Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6, and John 3:16, this prayer reflects on the promise of Christ, the meaning of Advent, and the gift of God with us.

Whether you use the blank prayer calendar to plan who you’re praying for, or follow the guided Scripture prompts for your family, church, community, and the world, this prayer sets the tone for the month ahead.

Let this be a moment to slow down—and to remember why this season matters.

As a thank you to everyone who has prayed with me in 2025, I have made this December prayer guide Free for everyone to download and use in their devotional time.

I know not everyone can download our digital prayer journals, so I'll share the December example prayer here on the blog for you to read. Pray this every day during December!

December Christmas Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Lord God, I adore You for being a God who keeps His promises. Long before the manger, You spoke of a Savior who would come—Immanuel, God with us. You are the Sovereign One who wrote redemption into history before we ever knew our need. You are faithful, holy, and full of mercy. I praise You for the wonder of Your plan and the beauty of Your Son, Jesus, who fulfilled every word You spoke.

Father, I confess that I’ve often rushed through this season without stopping to reflect on what Advent truly means. I've let the noise, the lists, and the distractions crowd out the awe of Christ’s coming. Forgive me for forgetting the depth of the gift—that a child was born, a Son was given, and He is our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.

Thank You for sending Jesus. Thank You for loving the world so much that You gave Your one and only Son. There is no gift like Him—no love so pure, no sacrifice so great. Thank You for coming near, for stepping into our broken world with healing, hope, and eternal life.

Lord, help me slow down and make space for awe. Help me reflect deeply on the wonder of Advent and respond with worship. Teach me to live in light of Your coming—not just in December, but every day. Let my heart stay anchored in the truth that Christ came, Christ lives, and Christ is coming again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

 In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6, John 3:16
