Alpha kai Omega- Alpha And Omega Meaning
Updated: Oct 27, 2022
Alpha kai Omega is the Greek name of God meaning Alpha and Omega. "Alpha and Omega" are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. When Jesus calls Himself "Alpha and Omega",
He is declaring that He is the first and the last, the beginning and the ending. Jesus Christ is the beginning and Jesus Christ is the ending. He is the first and He is the last. That means that Jesus Christ is the eternal God.
Join me as we dig for the scripture treasure that is wrapped up in this last name of God that we end our epic 30 Day Bible study on, The 30 Powerful Names Of God.

This name of God only occurs three times in the Bible in the book of Revelation and these verses probably allude to passages in the book of Isaiah in which God identifies Himself as being both the beginning and the last.
“Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God. Isaiah 44:6
“Listen to Me, O Jacob, And Israel, My called: I am He, I am the First, I am also the Last. Isaiah 48:12
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, theAlmighty.” Revelation 1:8
And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. Revelation 21:6
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” Revelation 22:13
Because Jesus Christ is Alpha and Omega, He is the alphabet of God's revelation to us. If you want to understand God, you have to know Jesus.
