Here are 30 scriptures on getting direction and guidance from God in your decision-making.


Today I am sharing some Bible verses to give you clarity and direction for the millions of decisions that you have to make not just daily but it seems like hourly too!


I am compiling lists of bible verses to add to our printable/prayer journal collection to inspire your powerful prayers of intercession. Are you seeking God for guidance in your situation?


The decisions that we make have an impact not just on our lives but also on the lives of those around us.


When we have to make a decision, we often rely on what we know to make the best possible choice. But you can't know the impact or consequences of those choices you make ahead of time.


The good news is that you are not alone and you can have expert guidance from God!


God loves you and cares about you very much. 1 Peter 5:7.



God promises that if you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you and show you things that you do not know. James 4:8, Jeremiah 33;3. The Bible is full of God's instructions to guide us in every decision that we have to make. So take a deep breath and enjoy what the bible says about making decisions.

God gives good and perfect advice!


The following scriptures have helped me in moments of uncertainty when I have been severely stressed and worried. Read them, memorize them and pray them over your life decisions and I know you will discern God's guidance and direction in the decisions that you have to make.

1. Trusting God in making decisions


Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.


2. God directs you to call on Him.


Do you know God's private telephone number?

Jeremiah 33:3: Call to me and I will answer you and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.


3. God directs you to seek Him first.


Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

14. Call on God to teach you His ways


Psalm 25:4: Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths.

Psalm 86:11 Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.

Trust God to help you in your decision making


You need to trust God to help you in all your decision-making. He wants to partner with you in every single decision that you make. You must sit still in His presence and invite the Holy Spirit to speak to you through the scriptures. Remember - God is faithful. You can trust Him because that is His nature.


I find that using the A.C.T.S method of prayer is an empowering way to hear God speak through His word. Use it as you prayerfully study each of these bible verses for direction and guidance from God.
