Devotional Bible Study: Show Me Your Ways Lord | Psalm 25:4-5.

Updated: Oct 8, 2021

Welcome to Day 4 for a short powerful devotion from our 30 Psalms For Anxiety, Fear, Worry, And Depression bible plan. This short devotional is from Psalm 25:5. And make sure to join me in prayer at the bottom of this post.

Read Psalm 25. (Click on the psalm if you would like to see other translations of these verses)

Here is another Psalm that was composed by David. Psalm 25 is a prayer song to God. We can't be certain about David's circumstances when he wrote Psalm 25 but some biblical scholars suspect it may have been written during the time of his son's, Absolom revolt.

David made many mistakes including adultery with Bathsheba and the murder of her husband! All his bad decisions led to circumstances that caused him anxiety and stress but he repented and sought God and then he remembered the sweet fellowship that he had with Him.

Show me your ways, Lord

Let this be your song too. David calls on God to show him His ways in Psalm 25:4.

"Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths."

David yearned for God's wisdom. He yearned to know God's truth and to follow His plans for his life because David's ways were only leading him into misery and anxiety. David knew that it would be wise to seek God and to learn from Him because God is wisdom and only He had the power to save him. David's hope came from being in the presence of God.

Be teachable

Learn from David. Yearn for a teachable heart.

Are you in the middle of a difficult trial?

Maybe you are anxious because of circumstances that have occurred due to bad decisions you have made or a judgment of error or maybe the daily rhythms of life have led you to burnout.

God wants you to come unhindered into His presence so that He can teach you His wisdom, to take those burdens from your shoulders in exchange give you His peace.

Having a heart for God like David means you need to be teachable. In whatever trial that you find yourself in, seek the Lord snd His wisdom for what to do.

Benefits of being teachable

Here is a list of benefits from being teachable and from having a desire to seek God's wisdom.

1. God will bless you and you will find rest! Matthew 11:29

2. God promises to give you more wisdom and understanding as you seek Him. Mark 4:25.

3. When God finds someone who is teachable, He calls them wise. Matthew 7:24.

Wisdom comes from God. So if you have a heart that yearns to know God more and it is a hungry and teachable heart, then God can teach you His ways and guide you into His unique plans for your life.

Then you will be filled with a 'God confidence' and your anxiety will be reduced as you trust God to lead you.
